DB2 9.7 introduces important new features to help you diagnose and solve locking problems on your system. Through a series of practical examples, this session will introduce you to these new capabilities, and show you how you can leverage them to quickly identify and resolve your locking problems. You will learn how to pinpoint that you have a locking problem on your system using the new time spent metrics. You will also learn about the new locking event monitor which provides a single comprehensive solution for analyzing deadlocks, lock timeouts, and lock waits, without the need to amalgamate data from different sources. Finally, we will cover the new locking table functions and views introduced in DB2 9.7 FP1 which provide an easy method for analyzing "live" locking problems on your system.
