Reorganizing data is critical for peak UDB performance. Reducing the time to perform table reorgs is essential as maintenance windows shrink due to increasing system availability requirements. To maximize maintenance window productivity, I will discuss when to reorg tables, methods to dramatically reduce reorg times (especially large heavily indexed tables), and on-going practices to ensure optimal reorg performance.
