This presentation will cover problems with Dynamic SQL on Z/os. It will try to evaluate the well known problems and describe possible reliefs for these. As most Dynamic SQL today are from JDBC and ODBC,it will try to cover this as well. There will be coverage of drivers, DataSources and connection pooling in WebSphere as many are struggling with this. There will be shown and handed out examples using JDBC, SQLJ and MS VB.

What can be done as circumvention for these ?
SQL from Java (JDBC and SQLJ) and MS VB (ODBC).
Driver handling and DataSources in WebSphere.
