V8 provides a wealth of new features eliminating or minimizing the outage when objects are altered - the drop is going away. There is a big BUT - the performance impact of SQL statements like select, delete, insert and update retrieveing data. This presentation is using real life scenarios showing the performance impact of having multiple versions active at the same time using V8 Online SChema changes.
