Using DB2 for z/OS V8 for more than one year has given me lots of opportunity to have NEWFUN with the New Function Mode. I will highlight some of the pitfalls of application migration from a developerís point of view. Using examples, I will show the importance of BINDs and REBINDs in order to profit from the optimizer enhancements, as well as provide hints on how to identify performance impacts in advance. Last but not least, I will explain a few concealed treasures of the new ZPARMs.
