The objective of this presentation are to share real world experiences from early customer migration and production deployment of DB2 for z/OS V8. Lessons learned, surprises and pitfalls will be introduced and discussed. Myths which have emerged regarding V8 will be addressed. Information about new enhancements and additional planning information will be provided. Expectations will be set regarding the real value of 64-bit virtual support and what is to be expected in terms of CPU performance.
