Topic: Cross Platform DB2 for z/OS & LUW
Infrastructure optimization goes beyond products and technologies. People and processes compose a large portion of an organization’s IT service maturity. A number of standards and best practice organizations address the areas of people and process in IT service management.
Many times if you ask how to fix the performance problem the answer is "It depends". This presentation will address DB2 for z/OS management and tuning. We will start with data modeling, database design, testing .... and end with performance monitoring suggestions. We will touch areas of application, database and system performance. De-identifying is one of these areas as well. In order to effectively test the systems before the migration, the company needs to provision usable test data. Due to the sensitive nature of the sensitive records involved, the company’s testing team have to find a way to de-identify the data they were using, whilst ensuring that the data sets would remain meaningful.
Some aspects of application recovery scenarios will be mentioned too. What is the role of DBA and his tasks in IT ?
If we are talking about standards what ITIL has with DB2 ? ITIL recommends centralization and cross-referential integration of data, which is key to efficient, intelligent service management operations.
