Topic: Cross Platform DB2 for z/OS & LUW
In the past year since the initial release of BLU Acceleration, the focus has been on its lightning fast query processing, advanced compression and revolutionary simplicity. Many however, are left wondering how BLU Acceleration modifies data. In this talk we dive into the internal implementation of Insert, Update and Delete processing in BLU Acceleration and illustrate how small changes to your ETL processing can have dramatic performance implications. We then discuss recent changes made in the Cancun release, and why they can be expected to further improve ETL performance. Finally, we present some best practices for initially populating your tables by comparing LOAD, INGEST and the db2convert tool.
