Topic: Cross Platform DB2 for z/OS & LUW
A key requirement of data analytics is that the information being mined should be as current as possible. Companies who operate against day old (or more) data are at a serious disadvantage to those who leverage current information.
For Big Data platforms such as Hadoop, Cassandra, Spark and IDAA, this requires performing incremental updates directly from DB2 as updates are captured near-real-time. As opposed to performing bulk loads of DB2 data on a regular schedule, data replication provides an efficient method of maintaining data currency on a continuous basis.
This presentation focuses on how to update Big Data platforms directly from DB2 via data replication. In addition, to the incremental update process, this discussion includes general design considerations, common data issues, latency expectations and the role of bulk data loads.
