Identifying SQL Queries that waste your CPU may not be as simple as it seems. Just to rely on observations or SMF reports tend to show only long running SQL statements, while many “fast” queries get lost in the hay stack. This is even more difficult with a Workload of Billions of SQL statement per day within a highly heterogeneous environment. Modern Java Applications are capable of generating thousands of varying SQL Statements, a strategy is needed to find tuning opportunities. The session speaker tells about his own experiences in finding the best strategy and tools to support this approach.
