Topic: DB2 for LUW
DATE: 2005-10-25 (14:45 - 15:45)
SPEAKERS: Roger E. Sanders (Network Appliance, Inc.)
Individuals who have taken the DB2 Family Fundamentals (700) exam often tell me they received their lowest scores on the section that covers isolation levels and locking. This implies that these two concepts remain a mystery to a large number of DB2 users. This presentation is designed to take away the mystery and replace it with a solid understanding of the components DB2 UDB uses to make database concurrency possible.
EXP. LEVEL: Intermediate

What locks are and how they are used
Locks and performance
