SPEAKERS: Andreas Christian (IBM SWG Data Management)
In todayís ever changing world with corporations taking others over and being taken over, we as DBAs never know what is around the next corner. Which ever way you cut it, as a DBA we need to know about everything that is concerned with data, where is it, who is putting it there and who is using it. The latter can be users running queries, or ERP applications such as SAP.There is a unique partnership between SAP and IBM, which has led IBM to produce a database that is optimized for SAP which is fundamental to SAPís Cost Control Vision. The SAP approach to databases has its own terminology and methodology which we as DB2 DBAs need to be comfortable with. This session aims to be a "SAP 101" for the uninitiated DB2 DBA.
