Over the past decade, data has been growing at an exponential rate. A quest for deeper insights combined with longer retention policies requires that data be available. However, not all data needs to reside on the fastest disks. This session describes how you can determine the temperature of your data and leverage table partitioning along with multi-temperature warehouse to get fast access to critical warehouse data while still keeping rest of the data available for applications. We also describe how data tags can be used to implement workload management policies that favor access to hot data. As data ages, it becomes less critical and we discuss Optim tooling support to facilitate data temperature changes.
