Topic: DB2 for z/OS
Is it a DB2 problem? DBAs always hear this question. In fact, today’s complex z/OS environments involve many subsystems such as CICS, DB2, IMS, and WebSphere MQ. Some problems do not clearly indicate their origin. For example, IMS or CICS users might report slow response time, but to solve the problem, you may need to correlate DB2 with other measurement data across subsystems to discover the root cause.
This presentation looks at the available sources of performance and log data both inside and outside of DB2, and describes the value of this data for forensic transaction analysis, problem determination and tuning.
