Subtopic: DB2 for LUW
This is a back to basics presentation. It describes the architecture of the sort and aggregation algorithms that currently exist in DB2. It covers how the DB2 optimizer decides to use sorts to benefit various other operations even though the query may not seem like it needs a sort of the intermediate data streams. You will also learn what is different in the Database Partitioned Feature (DPF) environment when dealing with sort and aggregation. Windows aggregation and its usage in interesting queries will also be discussed.
