This presentation will cover how the presenter used the technique of transforming data currently held in a relational format into XML, to reduce the calls to the database by more than 90% as well as ustilising this in an overall technique which suggested that the CPU and elapsed time of the process transformed could be reduce by > 90% also. The presentation will also touch on other reasons than performance, why transforming relational to XML may be considered as well scenarios when the technique used may be applicable and also covering in more depth exactly what SQL the presenter wrote to achieve the transformation.
