Topic: 2014 EMEA
Subtopic: Cross Platform DB2 for z/OS & LUW
This session will present a small case study on how a single LOB crippled a highly transactional 24*7 database. We will be covering how LOB's are natively used in DB2, why they are a performance hog, and what was done to improve performance dramatically. We will also cover the "gotcha's" when working with LOBS in daily maintenance such as backups and 3rd party tools.
This session will discuss specific topics such as INLINE BLOBs, Filesystem Caching, the "NOT LOGGED" feature, as well as affects on HADR and incremental backups.
