B07 - Exploiting Larger real Memory Size with DB2 for z/OS to Reduce CPU Resource Consumption and Improve Application Elapsed Time

Topic: 2015 EMEA

Subtopic: DB2 for z/OS

This session will introduce and discuss opportunities available to DB2 10 and 11 for z/OS to use larger size real memory to reduce performance cost through reduced CPU resource consumption and improved elapsed times for transactions and batch processing. The following specific target areas will be covered: larger local and group buffer pools, use of large page frames, thread reuse with RELEASE(DREALOCATE) for IMS/TM and CICS and DDF applications, larger global and local dynamic statement cache, and in-memory data cache.
