Subtopic: DB2 for z/OS
In this session you will learn how DB2 uses prefetch to avoid synchronous database I/O. We’ll discuss how to control the number of sequential buffers used for prefetch. We’ll discuss the causes of sequential synch I/O, the tuning methods you should use to avoid them, and how the z13 processor and Cypress will help. You will also learn about the inner workings of DB2’s sequential detection algorithm.
