This presentation is an in-depth explanation of theinternals of DB2 UDB on the Unix, Windows and Linux platforms. It willdelve into storage management, table management, logging, locking, memorymanagement and other areas in detail. The session will describe thoseaspects of DB2's internal workings that are important for DBAs to appreciate in order to get the most out of their DB2 installations and keeptheir user communities happy. Special attention will be given to recentlyadded capabilities such as threading, automatic storage, compression, and workload management, and other topics for which internals have not be covered previously.
