IMS Version 10 adds many enhancements to this premier database and transaction manager. In this session you will learn how to migrate your IMS V8 and V9 systems to IMS V10. You will learn the things you can do even before you order V10 to facilitate the migration from V8 or V9. The prerequisite software for V10 will be identified. The migration process will be described. This will include an explanation of the new facilities that have been added to IMS V10 to make the migration even easier. The session will point out the changes in operational procedures that may be advisable after migrating to IMS V10. Finally, the IMS V10 library including changes from previous releases will be described.

Attendees will learn what prerequisite hardware, software, and maintenance is required for the installation of IMS V10 and for the coexistence of IMS V10 with other versions of IMS and with the available versions of DB2 and CICS.
Attendees will learn how to use the IMS V10's new capabilities which have been added to simplify the migration process.
Attendees will learn what they can do with their IMS V9 or V8 system to position themselves for an easy transition to IMS V10.
Attendees will learn what operational differences they will encounter when they migrate to IMS V10.
Attendees will learn where they can get additional information about the capabilities delivered in IMS V10.
