SPEAKERS: Rich Lewis (IBM Advanced Technical Support, Americas), Suzette Wendler (IBM Advanced Technical Support - IMS)
IMS was introduced in 1968. It was originally designed as part of the NASA's Apollo Moon project. In the last 40 years it has evolved to meet the changing demands of a diverse set of users. Nevertheless, application programs written in the early days of IMS are still being used. Many of these programs are doing things that their creators did not imagine. Suzie and Rich will discuss how IMS has evolved and continues to evolve. They will provide illustrations from their personal experiences with IMS, describe how it integrates with emerging technologies, and provide insight into its future.
