This presentation are tailored towards installations that have system-programmers in charge of ZPARM-settings and recovery/reorg of the catalog/directory.As the number of subsystems is ever increasing and as the number of ZPARM-parameters (including hidden parameters) is increasing as well, there is a risk of installations not having a consistent "ZPARM-politics". This could be a potential risk and a ‘good’ subject for system auditors. Some installations will also have DBA's in charge of reorg and recovery of ordinary tablespaces but will leave it to system-programmers for DSNDB01 and DSNDB06.But are the infrastructure, tools and plans in place for your catalog/directory maintenance or are your installation depending upon system-programmers with aging memory and their ability to read a manual ?
