To keep programmed Static SQL at peak performance and avoid damaging switches, we need "good health" maintenance practices for our access paths (regular REBINDs with complete STATS) enabled by: "Power Solutions" (effective switch reporting, an Optimizer Test Bed, OPTHINT) and an "SQL Repository" (Explain and per-SQL performance integrated via an "SQLKEY" ID) along with exploitation of ALL the V8 Explain information.
