This session will gives you an introduction of performance analysis for DB2 on z/OS. It is not thought as the ultimate reference guide for solving all possible performance problems with DB2 on z/OS, but will teach you how to analyze performance problems in general. We will thereby focus on those problems which are causing more than 80%of yor daily problems. We will talk about the areas where those problems are coming from and analyze them by using concrete scenarios. At the end you should be able to detect a problem and use the available tools to analyze and fix them.
EXP. LEVEL: Beginner
Get an overview about typical DB2 performance problems
Understand where most performance problems are coming from (database design, DB2 configuration, z/OS, etc.)
Understand the symptoms of such problems
Be able to identify the root cause of a performance problem using the various existing tools
Finally be able to resolve issue
