This presentation is a Mainframe DB2 DBA's point of view on how to set up a zLinux system running DB2 for LUW V8.1.5. It will cover some of the issues that you have to face in order to set up the system and copy data from DB2 for z/OS. At my shop we set this system up for a pilot for a Data Warehouse application. We also had a dedicated Integrated Facility for Linux (IFL) engine just for the zLINUX LPAR of 192 MIP's. I also installed IBM's DB2 Performance Expert to monitor the overall performance.
