Application Performance Management for DB2 - Presented by Wayne Slominay
Using IBM's DB2 Universal Database as the backbone of IT initiatives is a sound business decision, but the resource challenges involved can appear daunting. In addition to higher levels of system complexity, DBAs and developers must take on new and expanded responsibilities when working with innovative DB2 technologies.
As DB2 has evolved, it has never been more important to improve the quality and performance of DB2 applications in test and production. Wayne will discuss approaches that help users avoid the inefficient use of DB2 system services and techniques to reduce excessive wait time or execution in DB2 system services. Wayne will also offer approaches to help reduce resource consumption and best practices to improve application performance.

Testing with Production Data, Best Practices in Data Privacy - Presented by Luis Gasca
Complying with Data Privacy regulations, mitigating the risk of sensitive data exposure, and obtaining Data Privacy audit certifications have become priorities for IT organizations. Research indicates that the majority of data mishandling occurs internally. In addition to security measures for production environments, organizations need to protect data used for application testing and quality assurance. To address this issue, IT organizations must enhance their QA processes to protect test data while maintaining integrity, consistency and usability. In addition to implementing state-of-the-art technology to disguise and de-personalize sensitive information, a Data Privacy project entails an adequate understanding of its ancillary tasks, deliverables and resources. Through a Best Practices Methodology, IT organizations are better able to deploy enhanced test data processes to improve application quality; minimize risks; lower the cost of regulatory compliance; and maximize productivity.
This presentation has been featured at SHARE West 2007 under session numbers 1454 and 1765. It has also been delivered at several Compuware user group seminars, and professional association meetings, such as local ISACA chapters, etc. It has also been approved for SHARE East 2008.
