DB2 V8, ZOS 1.10: Unable to drop trigger

Thanks for all replies in advance. We have a trigger that is getting -805's and when we look there is no package in the catalog but we do have a definition in SYSTRIGGERS. We cannot rebind (or drop) to create the package because the system say's it doesn't exist. We cannot recreate the trigger because the system says that it already exist. I'm sure that there is a simple fix to this but it has eluded us all afternoon. Can someone tell me what we are missing here?

When you issue the FREE command you need to specifically identify the package as belonging to a trigger.

Try FREE TRIGGER PACKAGE name (Not sure about this... it's been a long time.)
Or REBIND TRIGGER PACKAGE

As I replied to someone else a few weeks ago, this is a known problem
and I do not recall if there is a PTF for it yet. We experienced the
problem a good year ago. The IOBM proposed solution was to bring up DB2
in catalog update mode (ZParm change), delete the debris, and then bring
DB2 back up in normal mode. Certainly, neither an elegant nor
non-disruptive solution.

Just a thought, and I am not totally sure of the links in the catalog
between a trigger and it's package, BUT have you tried binding a package
(ANY package) with the same name as the trigger and THEN try dropping
thetrigger?
