Free Technical Webcast: DB2 LUW for Smarties - Part 2

The International DB2 Users Group (IDUG(r)) is pleased to partner
with Computer Associates to deliver a free Webcast by award-winning
presenter Maria Sarikos as she helps convert mainframe DB2 DBA
skills to DB2 for Linux, Unix, Windows (LUW) DBA skills. This live
Webcast will run approximately 60 minutes and participants will have
the opportunity to pose questions to the presenter during the

About the Webcast
In part two of this two-part series, Maria Sarikos closely examines
the DB2 Registery and Environmental variables, as well as
Configuration Parameters that deal with memory areas for DB2 UDB
LUW. Special attention is paid to Buffer Pool tuning, the different
types of sorts and Sort Tuning. Finally the presentation will also
cover how to track down problems and the monitoring facilities

About the Presenter
Maria Sarikos has been working with DB2 since 1991 and has worked as
an Independent Consultant for a number of years specializing in DB2
Performance Tuning and Database Design before joining PLATINUM
technology and subsequently Computer Associates.

As Principal Consultant her role has expanded into a wide-ranging
international role and she supports and develops Computer
Associate's DBMS tools business in a number of countries. Maria
regularly presents at international and European conferences, DB2
User Groups and Symposia and is a past winner of the IDUG North
America 'Best Overall Speaker' award. Maria has also recently been
asked to become a permanent columnist for the IDUG Solutions Journal
focusing on SQL & Performance related topics. Amongst other things,
she is also a member of the IDUG Regional User Group (RUG) Leader
Council and acts as RUG Mentor for Europe, the Middle East and
