1:00 - 2:15 Application Performance: The Red Flags to Look For
Presenter: Joe Burns, Highmark, Inc.
Application programmers and DBAs both have a vested
interest in ensuring good application performance.
But inevitably performance issues will arise, and it can
be difficult to decide where the problem is. Or in some

cases even if there is a performance problem. In this
presentation we will look at performance terms like
synchronous I/O, Getpages and DB2 Class 2 times. We’ll
also look at what they should mean to us when
we are trying to resolve a performance issue.
Programmers and DBAs alike should leave with a better
understanding of the red flags that can point to
potential performance problems.
