It's been a long time since I played on a mainframe, but have you checked whether the Dev datasets have been migrated? You may need to recall them.

This used to cause similar issues in a Dev Db2 system if it had not been actively used for a while.

Cheers

Greg

Please provide all messages for this issue. That includes the IEC and DSN messages (dsn messages are here just need IEC). Mask company private details but include the complete messages

Second, did you engage you storage admins or z/OS system programmers?

This is typically an issue with the dataset or VVDS on the volume. You stag admin should be able to help.

RE: Help - Outage - ERROR IN ICF CATALOG
(in response to venkata rama rajesh mallina)

The documentation for DSNP012I says that since CTLGRC=4, the value CTLGRSN=7C509CA4 can be read as zzzzrrss, where "zzzz" represents two EBCDIC characters that you can append to "IGG0CL" to get the CSECT, "rr" is the reason code, and "ss" is the return code. It also says that the return and reason codes are the ones from message IDC3009I. This would give us:

X'7C50' = "@&"
X'9C' = 156
X'A4' = 164

IGG0CL@& does not seem to make sense. Return code 164 could be plausible, although reason code 156 does not seem to be associated with it. Here is the explanation for return code 164 - taken from https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSLTBW_2.1.0/com.ibm.zos.v2r1.ieam600/bb3009i.htm - which suggests that the Db2 subsystem may have an out-of-memory problem. No guarantee that this is what's causing it as I may not even be in the right ballpark with this one:

RETURN CODE 164 Explanation: Insufficient storage is available for a work area. This condition arises when there is insufficient virtual storage available for catalog management.
Reason Code     Description
2     Explanation: A GETMAIN failure occurred. There is insufficient virtual storage available.

Programmer Response: Increase the region size available to the step.
10     Explanation: A GETMAIN failure occurred. There is insufficient virtual storage available for the catalog communication area.

Programmer Response: Increase the region size available to the step.
