websphere clear cache command

I realize this is not a db2 question. but this has caused us db2 issues.

In order for us to clear websphere cache we resort to rebooting.

Might there be a websphere command to clear the cache without rebooting?

thanks

Bill

websphere clear cache command
(in response to william giannelli)
Hello Bill,

There are several ways of clearing the WebSphere cache, depending of which server you’re running.

Let’s assume you’re running WebSphere application server (WAS) and your profile is InfoSphere (IIS)

Here is what you can do:

Run these cmds:

/opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/profiles/InfoSphere/bin/osgiCfgInit.sh

/opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/profiles/InfoSphere/bin/clearClassCach

Delete contents of these folders ( mind you not the folders but contents of the folders):

/opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/profiles/InfoSphere/wstemp

/opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/profiles/InfoSphere/temp

And for a good measure – cycle WAS (again depending on your profile)

It is not necessary to cycle db2 because WAS will re-establish its connection on its was up.

Hope this helps
