Great article. We have a need to use this now, but not sure if Odata will query/update data on Db2 z/OS. Is this just for Db2 LUW for now?

Same here. We have a large application development effort that will commence shortly that would definitely benefit from this if it could access DB2 z/OS.

The one question i have about this is security? what protects it from improper usage? Do we use API-sec on it or what?

Thanks Myron W. Miller

James,

This is all about Db2 rather than Db2 for z/OS, which doesn't (yet) have
the native REST support.

Remember IBM has (in their infinite wisdom) decided that what we once new
as DB2 for LUW should now be known simply as "Db2". This lack of a
platform identifier is just causing confusions.

Thank you so much, James!

It looks like the links you provided apply to V11 and V12. It that true?

Yes, I've used it on Db2 11 for z/OS. It seems to be working well, and is
very easy. Lot's of IDUG articles out there. Google IDUG and REST and Db2.
Cheers,
