We have a diverse set of presentations for the June meeting, something for everyone. This meeting will be longer than normal, with 4 presentations for z/OS and most of the day for LUW. IBM will be sponsoring breakfast and lunch.
Wouldn’t it be nice if you could access all your enterprise data through a modern single API, use a single metadata model and utilize a single security model? Tim Willging will talk about a new tool IBM has named Data Virtual Manager. Bob Bersano will dig into a topic I hear a lot about, GDPR. Come listen to Bob discuss what this is and how it might impact you. We would like to welcome David Simpson back to St. Louis. He has a new presentation which will cover the basics of SQL/PL and give you some samples to take home and try! Do you need to simulate a production environment? Come listen to Ulf Heinrich as he discusses a total simulated environment. Welcome back to St. Louis, Ulf.
IBM is bringing in a full day of LUW topics and calling it: Application Development Simplified with Db2 (see attached document). Attend this free workshop to learn the fundamentals of developing applications with Db2 on LUW. This training will be presented by IBM’s Jon Lind, Sr. product Manager for the Db2 product portfolio. Along with this training, Ember Crooks of Xtivia, will teach us the seven mistakes that lead to slow SQL in Db2 and how to avoid them.
NOTE: We need to get 20 people to show up for this LUW training, or we will cancel it. If your company has Db2 LUW or thinking of trying LUW, please attend this class for many great learning sessions.
