how to restrict isolation level per user

how to restrict isolation level per user

hi,

I have to give select access to a user on a table, but he can only do select with ur or cs.

he should not be running the query with rs or rr isolation level.

how can I do this in db2, considering the client is a db2 clp session.

is the functionality supported for any other drivers or db2 client software?

thanks,

harish p

Hi

I am not sure, but don’t they use different packages? With SPUFI there are different packages or even plans. Maybe you can only grant those packages, which do SELECT with UR or CS?

Kind regards

That is not possible in Db2 LUW because there is a statement level isolation you can give along with the query.

Even if I use a db2clp package with execute on CS isolation only, still the user can issue select query with RR isolation level.
It just simply does not restrict the statement level isolation in LUW world.

I am not sure if SPUFI is a z/OS specific thing. But LUW behaves differently.

Thanks,

Db2 z/OS doesn't offerb isolation levels at user level.

Thanks,
Srini.
