DB2 for z/OS v10.1 : DSNDB07 usage 4k or 32K . What chooses what ?

Hi

My Db2 for z/OS is v10.1

There is a program (many queries with them) in my shop which uses DSNDB07 to perform sorts.

There are enough 32K files defined but still it uses 4K. Not sure why? What is the criteria.

There are no DGTT, only regular segmented tables. Also, everything is user managed (both 4k and 32k) with secondary qty set to 0

Experts, please advice.

I think this question is too generic to answer. One word answer is IT
DEPENDS.
However, i would think your problem lies in any of below:
1) your queries need to be tuned.
2) invest your time on whether the current allocated BP space is okay for
what is required for
3) is there any possibility to run the jobs or queries in serial manner
instead of all at a time
4) finally is the space of DSNDB07 is always occupied all over the day?

If the length of data to be sorted is less than 100 bytes (?), 4K is used.
