Compatibility of ixf format!!

Hi everyone,

I have an understanding that ixf format in DB2 luw export is supported only within IBM DB2 family. If one exports data in ixf format, same data cannot be loaded into other rdbms.

Please share your thoughts and correct if I am wrong.

Re: “.... ixf format, ...cannot be loaded into other rdbms”

That’s a fact, sadly, the IXF (Integrated Exchange Format) is only supported by LUW what was previously UDB. IXF is self contained - referring to unlike DEL or CSV, it has the metadata bolted on. Meaning it can create supporting indexes and tables for you on the fly as the data being loaded.
To answer your question, IXF is only supported by LUW and not even by mainframe Db2/zOS.
Hope this helps.
