Error in remote bind with COPY option in DB2 Z/os V11

Dear Members

I have a REMOTE BIND with COPY option happening from one subsystem to another .

Error is

DSN      ENDED DUE TO ERROR+
SYSTEM ABEND CODE 04E   REASON CODE 00D3442B  PSW 077C0001A0CEBA56

THe reason code seems to point to an issue with the CCSID in which the statement text it.

THe DBRM in source environment was bound just recently in Db2 V11 .  Target system is also in V11.

But remote BIND fails.

This DBRM could be a large one. Many other DBRMs went thru remote bind successfully.. but this particular one fails.

I got one explanation for same scenario in V12 in this link 'https://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1PI68754

But we are in V11.

The need for BINDCOPY comes because I donot have the DBRM and the source code version that we have is suspected to be not original. Hence we want to avoid recompile in V12 . REMOTE BIND with COPY option seems safe. But it is failing with the above mentioned reason code.

Thanks in advance

Regards

Ganapathy

Hi!

I recently had a similar problem, but I don't know if it is the same problem. In my case the package was based on a very old DBRM, over 25 years old. We did not find any olther solution than to create a new DBRM and bind that one instead.

You can see in SYSPACKAGES column PCTIMESTAMP when the DBRM was created.

Hi Ganapthy,

There are vendor tools available that can create a DBRM from a package. I haven’t tried on 25 years old packages, though.
