db2luw upgrade db2v11 getting error

Hi Deb,

I assume you've done the obvious and shut down the instance cleanly with db2stop.

Assuming linux - Check that there are no stale db2 connections: ps -ef |grep db2

If there are, force them off (kill -9) as they can show as using the db2 binaries, and get in the way of upgrades.

 

This is for V10.1, but IBM have a habit of unfixing these things - might also be worth a check:
