DB2 12 VUE vs Normal? DB2 12 - differences?
Good evening
Is there a functional difference between db2 12 for z/os and db2 12 Value Unit Edition??
If I was entitled to and installed DB2 12 normal? and then a contract was signed for DB2 12 VUE must I re-install the VUE version to be legally compliant?? Anything else I should be worried about?

Thank You,

I do know that VUE has an extra FMID (read the VUE program directory).

<speculation>

It is possible that this is used to signal SMF traces that show that Db2 isn't the fulll priced
variant. And I believe that if you run VUE you have to provide IBM proof of what you are
using it for.

</speculation>

I haven't read the actual license for VUE.

Hi Chris,

There is no functional difference between the two versions - as James said, there is an additional FMID in the VUE version which introduces an extra couple of panels to the install/migration process. These panels enable to you "agree" to the different licensing terms.

Hope that helps,

Karen
