Db2 V12 -DISPLAY PROCEDURE DSNX994I

Hello Db2 Community!

We have been at Db2 z/OS V12 FL100 for about 6 months now.

Since migrating, the -DISPLAY PROCEDURE(procname) SCOPE(GROUP) command has been rendered useless for us.  No matter when we run it, the response we get is:

DSNX994I  *DB3J DSNX9SSC SCOPE(GROUP) COMMAND CANNOT BE PROCESSED DUE

TO COMMAND ALREADY IN PROGRESS

***

I have even tested it in one of our sandbox data sharing groups where I can ensure that nothing else is running at the same time.  I still get the same response.

We used to receive the DSNX994I occasionally in V11.  However, since V12, we have zero success.  We have no choice but to run the DIS PROC command locally on each data sharing member.  This slows us down during problem determination.

I’ve opened a case with IBM, but no help has come so far.  They suggested a PTF, but once applied, that made no difference.

I’m curious if anyone else is having this problem and, if so, have you found a solution?

Db2 V12 -DISPLAY PROCEDURE DSNX994I
(in response to Dil Sasidharan)
Just to add some flesh to the bones:

PH11161: -DIS PROCEDURE SCOPE(GROUP) RETURNS DSNX994I 19/04/17 PTF PECHANGE

Db2 11 https://www-03.ibm.com/software/shopzseries/ShopzSeries_public.wss?ptfs=UI63864 UI63864

Db2 12 https://www-03.ibm.com/software/shopzseries/ShopzSeries_public.wss?ptfs=UI63861 UI63861

Occurred if UI58518/UI58519 were applied.

This should fix your problem... probably requires a group wide restart at a wild guess....

Correct, UI63861 has been applied and all DB2s restarted.  No relief.

Well, we have been struggling with this for months even after applying the PTF.  This morning our SCOPE(GROUP) commands started working again with no discernible change.  Perhaps it's sunspots.. or flying monkeys... or perhaps it knew I reached out to ask for help and got afraid.

It knew I was going to be visiting this board today and figured it better start working properly.  ;)

Glad to hear it's working properly.    Todd
