LOAD with Statistics Monitor Element to be reported separately ?

Hi,

Is there a way to collect how much time it took for loading data and collecting statistics separately.

I load a table with 2gb data with collect statistics option.

There is no separate phase for statistics collection time, but during load phase table statistics are collected and reported as a single monitor metric total load time.

How do i know how much time load utility spent on collection of statistics separately.

Thanks

Hi Harish,

I don't know, if there is a separate counter on z/OS, but just out of interest I'd load twice. Once with and once without stats plus counting manual statistics.

It probably also depends on the level of stats you calculate.

Cheers

IFCID 25 might help you....

At util termination it spits out

QW0025DA DS F NUMBER OF PARALLEL DATA SORTS

QW0025IX DS F NUMBER OF PARALLEL INDEX SORTS

QW0025OS DS F NUMBER OF OTHER SORTS

QW0025UE DS CL8 UTILITY ELAPSED TIME AT TERMINATION

* (BINARY ZEROS INDICATE THAT NO DATA

* IS AVAILABLE FOR THIS FIELD AND THE

* CPU TIME FIELDS BELOW, E.G. FOR

* SUBPHASE TERMINATION RECORDS). ALL

* TIMES ARE IN TIME-OF-DAY FORMAT.

QW0025UC DS CL8 TOTAL UTILITY CPU TIME

QW0025UZ DS CL8 TOTAL UTILITY ZIIP TIME (IF ACCOUNTING

* CLASS 1 TRACE IS ACTIVATED)

QW0025SC DS CL8 SORT CPU TIME

QW0025SZ DS CL8 SORT ZIIP TIME (IF PROVIDED BY THE

* SORT PROGRAM)

Running LOAD with Statistics possibly adds sorts etc. and some runstats stuff is ZiiP eligible these days...
