I would just make sure when you get to db2 12 that you increase the
RID pool as the RID size has increased and it can trigger fail over
into work or even R-Scan in worst case.
Changing the ZPARMS in Db2 11 makes no real sense as you cannot
then see what happens in the migration was caused by access path
changes or zparm changes… Makes things confusing!
I would also recommend:
EDMSTMTC to be at least 1G as going to 4G is not recommended! (Just
because you can does mean you should!)
EDM_SKELETON_POOL should be set to at least 102,400 (double the
SRTPOOL to 128,000 Maximum value
RIDPOOL to 2,000,000 Maximum value (default is 1,000,000 and was
400,000 in Db2 11)
EDMPOOL is gone is Db2 12 and should be set to 0 in Db2 11

Subject: [DB2-L] - memory increase needed for v12 migration
So I am confused as to whether or not the EDMPOOL and RIDPOOL
should be increased PRIOR to v12 migration.
I now have had 2 IBM "experts" give advice contradicting each
other. One says there is NO need to increase in v11 for v12
migration. Another "expert" recommends increasing EDMPOOL by up to
30% and RIDPOOL up to 60% in v11 PRIOR to v12 migration.
I'd like to know the experience out there......
What have people done for memory in v11 to prepare for v12?
