IDUG Nears Completion of Tech Stack Transition

Here Come New Tools, a Better Member Experience

IDUG is excited to put the finishing touches on our tech stack transition in the next few weeks. You may have seen our messaging – we've been hard at work updating the website, and shifting your IDUG community tools to a new space.

Your user account may tell you it's "new" if you haven't logged in for a while. This user profile gives you access to the IDUG community, where you'll see some familiar information and records from IDUG before we shifted platforms.

The finishing touches are still in progress – look for event archives and presentation libraries to arrive soon. We're thrilled to see engagement in our new space already. We look forward to your feedback as we all adjust to new tools.

Questions? Reach out to our team. We're happy to help.

Encryption of “Data on the Wire” with TLS (Tranport Layer Security), formerly known as SSL, is more and more mandatory, also in the Db2 for LUW and Db2 for z/OS ecosystem.

This series of blogs describes the principles of TLS and their relevance for the Db2 for LUW and Db2 for z/OS community. Special focus is on TLS client authentication with certificate, which extends the widely used pattern of TLS server authentication with certificate.

Important: TLS client authentication with certificate is supported for Db2 for z/OS database servers only. However, Db2 LUW administrators may be involved in that topic because special setup on the Db2 client side is required to support this kind of TLS configuration.
